WHAT WE DO

HEALING. LEARNING. PROTECTING

The Von Cleveland Foundation exists to restore dignity and create new beginnings for survivors of trauma.

Through our three core programs, we provide safe and healing spaces, life-changing resources, and partnerships that protect and uplift.

Each initiative reflects our belief that redemption and renewal are possible for every person.

THE VON CLEVELAND FOUNDATION: ROOM TO HEAL INITIATIVE

Most child sexual abuse happens at home — and too often, survivors are left to heal in the very spaces where trauma occurred.

That’s why Room to Heal exists.

When abuse happens at home, survivors are often left to heal in the very rooms where trauma occurred. Room to Heal exists to change that reality.

We personally go into those spaces and transform them—repainting walls, bringing in new furniture, fresh bedding, décor, and personal touches that restore safety and hope. This isn’t outsourced. We do the work ourselves, alongside trusted volunteers, trauma-informed designers, and local partners who share our mission of healing.

Every dollar supports the materials and resources needed to create these sanctuaries. From paint to pillows, each detail is chosen with intention—so what was once a site of harm becomes a space of restoration, strength, and renewal.

THE VON CLEVELAND FOUNDATION: THE LITERARY LEGACY PROJECT

Books have the power to heal, transform, and reawaken hope—especially for those with limited access.

At the heart of The Literary Legacy Project lies this truth: reading isn’t just educational; it’s therapeutic.

Books can open doors that trauma has slammed shut. They can restore dignity, spark self-discovery, and remind survivors that change is possible. That is the heartbeat of The Literary Legacy Project.

For our founder, Sonny Von Cleveland, books weren’t a pastime — they were a turning point. In some of his darkest moments, voices like Viktor Frankl, Stephen Covey, and Brené Brown became guides out of despair and into purpose. His own book, Hey White Boy: Conversations of Redemption, now joins that legacy — proof that healing can give birth to hope, and hope can give birth to leadership.

Through this project, we hand-deliver libraries of transformation to those who need them most — survivors of trauma, incarcerated individuals, and underserved communities. Every book placed in someone’s hands is a chance to rewrite a future: to move from limitation to possibility, from silence to voice, from surviving to thriving.

This is not just a book drive. It is a movement to reclaim lives, one page at a time.

THE VON CLEVELAND FOUNDATION: JUSTICE GIVING

Through Justice Giving, we channel resources to fight exploitation, support survivors, and bring light into the darkest places.

Justice is not just about punishment — it’s about protection, prevention, and creating a safer world for survivors. Through Justice Giving, The Von Cleveland Foundation stands alongside trusted partners who are on the front lines of the fight against exploitation and trafficking.

We are proud to support Operation Light Shine, an organization uniting law enforcement, technology, and community resources to dismantle trafficking networks and rescue victims. By directing a portion of our foundation’s resources to this critical work, we ensure that survivors are not only healed through our programs, but also protected through systemic action.

Every contribution to Justice Giving amplifies this mission: funding investigations, survivor recovery, and awareness campaigns that make it harder for predators to hide and easier for survivors to find safety.

This is our commitment — to heal the wounds of the past while preventing future harm. Together, we bring light into the darkest places.
