Clear priorities are a roadmap to the Tri-Valley’s future.
In our grant-making, the Foundation responds strategically to
six funding priorities that guide our philanthropic mission.
Youth Development & Education
The Foundation funds problem-solving, skill-building
approaches that help our youth make a successful
transition to higher education and to satisfying career-
path jobs in today’s knowledge- and technology-driven
economy. We also fund leadership and civic
engagement initiatives for youth and provide funding
to public school districts across the Tri-Valley Region.
Strengthening Our Families
The Foundation funds stand-out programs that form a
safety net of effective support services for Tri-Valley
families, including local daycare and parenting
resources, counseling services, domestic violence
prevention, substance abuse recovery, legal aid, and
emergency food and shelter. We also fund local
services that meet the special needs of children with
disabilities and their families.
Assisting Our Seniors
The Foundation funds projects and initiatives that to
respond elder care needs in the Tri-Valley Region,
including senior day programs, home care services to
support independent living, assisted-living housing
solutions, legal assistance, and caregiver and family
support.
Access to Healthcare & Healthy Living
The Foundation funds creative approaches to bringing
medical care, dental care, and healthcare coverage to
children and adults in the Tri-Valley who do not have
access to healthcare. We also fund initiatives that
promote healthy living and the prevention of “lifestyle
diseases,” like heart disease and obesity.
Affordable Housing & Solutions to Homelessness
The Foundation funds supported-living shelter
projects that offer a strong life-skills approach to
homelessness, building up the personal and family
capacity to sustain independent living. We also
“broker” and fund collaborative initiatives that use
system-level, out-of-the-box thinking to create
affordable housing solutions for low-income families
and youth transitioning to adulthood.
Arts & Culture
The Foundation funds projects that preserve, promote,
and celebrate the history of the Tri-Valley Region and
the diverse cultures who live here. We also fund
initiatives that sustain and promote learning, practice,
and enjoyment of the arts in our community.
