Live Well, Work Well
WHEN YOU INVEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY...

...you add value to your company.  Successful
companies require healthy communities as a
source of educated, skilled, and productive
employees.
 Employees and their families want
access to good schools, quality healthcare, and
diverse cultural and recreational amenities.   It is in
a company’s best interest to help provide and
promote a healthy community for its employees and
other residents.

Companies in the Tri-Valley can help shape the
health and future of our communities by a making a
philanthropic investment with the Tri-Valley
Community Foundation.  When companies become
investment partners with the Foundation, they join
other business leaders, community groups, service
organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, and local
governments in a unique, collaborative effort that
supports education and the cultural arts in our
communities and meets critical health and human
service needs for people of all ages throughout the
Tri-Valley region.   In return for their investment,
businesses can offer employees and their families a
healthier, more vibrant community in which to work
and live.

The Foundation plays a unique, pivotal role in the
Tri-Valley region as a facilitator and “broker” of
partnerships and collaborative networks to assess
and respond to the current and emerging needs of
the community most effectively.  We invite your
company to join us -- as an investment partner and a
collaborator in creating a healthy and bright future
for everyone who lives and works in the Tri-Valley.

HOW TO PARTNER WITH THE TVCF

You can become a Foundation Partner in any of
several ways, including these:

An Annual Investment.  You may wish to give
an  annual gift to the
TVCF Community Impact
Fund,
our active unrestricted fund.  Contributions to
this fund enable the Foundation to respond quickly
to immediate needs and philanthropic opportunities
in the community.  This fund also supports the
Foundation's grant
-making program.  Contributions
to this fund can be in cash or in-kind services.
Foundation  partnerships typically begin at $1,
000 a
year.
A variety of recognition opportunities are
available to our Foundation Partners, depending on
the size of their community investment and their
specific objectives.
We work with you to tailor a
custom recognition approach that can include
newsprint, television, radio, website, and other
public relations vehicles.

•     Workplace Giving Campaign.  Another option
would be to invite the Foundation to implement a
workplace giving program for your company that
encourages your employees to contribute through a
payroll deduction program.  They may support any
IRS-approved charity or leave their gift
undesignated to be used by the Foundation locally to
help provide critically needed services.
The
Foundation conducts employee giving campaigns
for local companies such as Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratories, Sandia National
Laboratories California,
and California Water
Service.
We would be happy to launch a giving
program for your company that makes it easy for
your employees to benefit the communities in which
they live and work.
There is no charge for this
service.

•     A Donor-Advised Fund.  Still another option is to
create a Corporate Donor-Advised Fund.  This
option allows you to invest a predetermined amount
of charitable funds with the Foundation, using the
Foundation’s expertise to award grants in your
company's name to local charities that match your
specific philanthropic interests.
A Donor-Advised
Fund offers a convenient way to “outsource” all or a
portion of your time-consuming community
contribution activities to the Foundation.
A Donor-
Advised Fund also provides a selective “buffer”
between your business and the dozens of charities
that approach you for contributions.
